Quelli che una volta erano gli Spike Video Game Awards (VGA) e l’anno scorso sono diventati VGX, quest’anno tornano con una nuova formula. Geoff Keighley ha annunciato la nascita di The Game Awards. Molto probabilmente si ritornerà alla formula degli anni passati, ma sicurmente ci saranno trailer, anteprime, presentazioni esclusive a margine delle premiazioni sui migliori videogiochi dell’anno.
I The Game Awards si svolgeranno venerdì 5 dicembre 2014, in diretta da Las Vegas, e tra i personaggi e le compagnie che interverranno nel corso della serata, o che hanno partecipato alla sua organizzazione, ci sono Reggie Fils-Aime di Nintendo, Yves Guillemot di Ubisoft, Hideo Kojima, Shawn Layden (CEO di Sony Computer Entertainment America), Peter Moore (COO di Electronic Arts), Rockstar Games, Phil Spencer di Microsoft, Martin Tremblay (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) e Valve.
